If you don’t have your QECO Statement of Evaluation yet, you can still give your school board the Acknowledgement of Correspondence letter.
The Acknowledgement is an official document you can provide to your employer to let them know that you’re awaiting an evaluation. It can also be used to claim back pay or retroactive pay if your school board offers it. (Note that retroactive pay is a collective agreement matter. Check your collective agreement, or speak to your union or to your HR representative, for deadlines and details.)
To find the Acknowledgement, look under the Letters tab of your current application:
The letter contains the following info:
- Your name.
- The application date.
- The estimated processing time. The actual processing time depends, in part, on how long it takes to receive all the required documents. Be sure to check the Documents tab of your application to see which documents we still need you to provide to us, if any.
- A QR code. This can be scanned to verify the letter’s authenticity.
The Acknowledgement should be available in your account within one to two business days of applying.
Remember: it is the teacher’s responsibility to provide the Acknowledgement to their employer and to be mindful of any associated deadlines outlined in your collective agreement. Be sure to download the Acknowledgement and provide it to your employer as soon as possible.
