QECO will respond by email and phone to queries of a general nature only, such as:

  • assistance with the application process 
  • general assistance understanding upgrading requirements
  • assistance with accessing a teacher’s online account

Teachers must apply for a formal evaluation to obtain a response for:

  • what is required to move to the next category
  • whether the courses recently taken will result in a category change
  • unique course approval and course recognition
  • alternative upgrading routes
  • request for a category change, or any other queries of a specific nature
  • requests for duplicate documents such as statements of evaluation, upgrading letters, missing document letters, and any other past correspondence
  • requests for updated statements of evaluation bearing a teacher’s current name (teachers must note that QECO only issues statements under the teacher’s name that appears on their current Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification and Registration).

Note:  Please provide a personal email address since QECO responses may be rejected by an institution or school board’s security settings.

Teachers should have their OCT Registration Number ready when calling so QECO staff can look up their file.

Documents may be delivered in person by appointment after an application has been submitted.

The QECO office is just west of Summerhill Station (TTC), on the northwest side of Yonge St.

If driving, limited parking is available on Alcorn Ave. and the surrounding side streets starting at 10:00 a.m.
